SPECTEC offers many different sensor technologies and signal conditioners for use in different hazardous classified areas. Products are certified to United States, Canadian, ATEX, UKEX, & IECEx standards. The different protection methods listed below are suited to specific area classifications.
Intrinsically Safe sensors and signal conditioners are for use with Class I, Division 1 and Class I, Zone 0 classified areas. These are for use with the most hazardous gases. The internal protection components as well as a separate shunting-diode safety barrier are required to limit current flow into and out of the sensor. This limits the energy of sparks and the surface temperature of the equipment.
Our common sensing technologies as well as various signal amplifiers and signal converters are available. Several mounting thread options and housing styles are available to suit most applications.
Explosion Proof (Flame Proof) sensors are for use with Class I, Division 1 and Class I, Zone 1 classified areas. When properly installed with conduit, the metal housing will contain an explosion and extinguish the flames if they occur inside the conduit.
Our common sensing technologies are available in several mounting thread options to suit most applications. Custom mounting and housing options can also be developed.
Non-Incendive (Limited Energy / Increased Safety) sensors and signal conditioners are for use with Class I, Division 2 and Class I, Zone 2 classified areas. The internal protection components prevent arcs, sparks and hot surfaces
Available with the same sensing technologies as our Intrinsically Safe Certified Sensors. Signal amplifiers and signal conditioners are also available.
