Flow Metering & Measurement

SPECTEC has been a pioneer in developing sensors and signal conditioners for all types of flowmeters, based on the extensive flow measurement background of its engineering team. Sensors for both liquid and gas flowmeters are available. These sensors (pick-ups) are used for flow rate and totalization of flow throughput. An embedded temperature measurement element can be included for subsequent expansion and contraction adjustments of the volumetric throughput.

SPECTEC offers extensive expertise in providing sensors and signal conditioners for Turbine Flowmeters as well Positive Displacement type meters (PD Meters) designed to operate in hot, humid and environmentally challenging environments from the Arctic to the Amazon and deepsea.

Turbine Flowmeter Sensors

SPECTEC offers advanced and refined sensors (pick-ups) and optional companion signal conditioners (pucks) to optimize and facilitate accurate measurement of flowmeter totals and flowrate. Various types of Variable Reluctance Sensors (VRS, magnetic pick-ups) and Radio Frequency (RF pick-ups) have been developed for cryogenic and very high temperature 1000°F (540°C) applications. Sensors are available for ultra-low flow micro turbines all the way up to large pipeline turbine meters. Low-magnetic drag pick-ups and zero magnetic drag RF pickups are available to allow low flow measurement especially for small turbine meters and extend the accurate and measurable flowrate from typically 10:1 to a 100:1 flow range.

PD Meter Sensors

SPECTEC also offers advanced and refined sensors and companion signal conditioners for all types of PD meters, like sliding vane, gear, oval gear, oscillating piston, paddle wheel, etc. These sensors are specifically adapted to facilitate accurate measurement of flowmeter totals and flowrate. Various types of Variable Reluctance Sensors (VRS, magnetic pick-ups) and zero speed Hall-effect sensors are available to suit all operating environments of PD meters.

Specialty Flow Meter Sensors

Based on our extensive flow measurement expertise, sensors and signal conditioner for Insertion type flowmeters and most other types of unique flowmeters can be manufactured. SPECTEC is capable to find solutions for the most demanding flow measurement application.
